Fishing on Pleasant LakeMany of our guests regard Pleasant Lake as one of the best in the Hackensack Lakes Area. Pleasant Lake is located two miles east of Hackensack. It has approximately 1200 acres and has a length of close to 3 miles at the longest part. The lake has a maximum depth of 70 ft. and has water clarity greater than 15 feet. The lake has a good population of walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, and panfish. Over the past several years, the DNR had granted Pleasant Lake a double northern pike limit due to the high populations of the fish. This experimental limit was repealed and the inland waters limit of three is back in effect. The DNR found that the experimental limit had no effect on fish population or size, thus the reason for the repeal of the experimental limit. As for largemouth bass, Pleasant Lake is a sleeper. It is not well known for its bass fishing, but is definitely one of the best. Regardless of your age, panfish are one of the most enjoyable fish to tangle with. The action is normally fast and the rewards are delicious. Twin Springs has 16 ft Alumicraft boats, New 15 hp Yamaha (4-stroke) electric start motors, Newer Alumicraft Lunker Ltd. with 25 hp Yamaha (4-stroke), and a new 20 ft. Suncatcher pontoon with 50 hp Yamaha (4-stroke) for rent.
